Your Arctic Destination, Swedish Lapland, what is it really about? Basically the destination is a cooperation formed by 16 municipalities in Sweden’s Arctic and subarctic region, the northernmost part of Sweden.
In a short series we will showcase each one of them. Next one out is Kiruna.
This Arctic city and mining town was actually the first in the world with electrified street lights. Now the whole city is on the move, due to the growing mine. The municipality has some iconic views, hotels and folks and is probably the best region in the world for northern light viewing. But first there’s midnight sun.
