To sleep in Biosphere, the new room at @treehotel, by @big_builds, what would it be like? We asked the architect Bjarke Ingels for his first impression after his stay. “I’m impressed by the fact that we managed to create a sphere that kind of hangs, or floats, among the tree tops”.
Even if the room itself is a cube, the 350 birdhouses on the outside creates this impression of the sphere.
“And of course the feeling of being among the tree tops is great and I think it feels bigger than I had expected. The nature is very present with all the windows”.
And just as we talk about all this, a little bird fly in to examine the new neighborhood.
Biosphere is the northernmost project @big_builds has created so far, it is the first project his Barcelona office has seen through, and it is one of the smallest houses/projects @bjarkeingels have done. (Swipe for more shots)
