Det \u00e4r en f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttring fr\u00e5n plats 36 \u00e5r 2025 och plats 52 \u00e5r 2024, vilket ger tre \u00e5rs sammanh\u00e4ngande utveckling sedan \u00d6stersund gick med och b\u00f6rjade arbeta med ramverkets kriterier.<\/p>\n<p>GDS-Index \u00e4r ett internationellt bed\u00f6mningsprogram som m\u00e4ter och j\u00e4mf\u00f6r destinationers arbete inom fyra kategorier och \u00f6ver 75 kriterier, baserade p\u00e5 bland annat FN:s globala m\u00e5l och GSTC:s kriterier f\u00f6r destinationer. Resultaten presenterades av Global Destination Sustainability Movement den 23 september 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Arbetet har letts av Destination \u00d6stersund i n\u00e4ra samarbete med \u00d6stersunds kommuns h\u00e5llbarhetsgrupp, och bygger vidare p\u00e5 de f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttringsomr\u00e5den som kom fram efter f\u00f6reg\u00e5ende m\u00e4tningar.<\/p>\n<p>Joanna Gustafsson, processledare f\u00f6r h\u00e5llbar platsutveckling p\u00e5 Destination \u00d6stersund, kommenterar:<br \/>&#8211; Tre \u00e5r i rad har vi f\u00f6rflyttat oss upp\u00e5t i indexet vilket visar p\u00e5 ett uth\u00e5lligt arbete som byggs \u00f6ver tid. N\u00e4sta steg \u00e4r att anv\u00e4nda resultaten fr\u00e5n dessa tre \u00e5r f\u00f6r att rikta insatserna \u00e4nnu skarpare i v\u00e5r strategi mot 2030.<\/p>\n<p>Att j\u00e4mf\u00f6ras och granskas i GDS-Index handlar inte bara om en placering, det \u00e4r ett s\u00e4tt att h\u00e5lla riktningen i det l\u00e5ngsiktiga arbetet, att visa att \u00d6stersund kan vara med b\u00e5de lokalt f\u00f6rankrat och vara med och driva utveckling internationellt. <\/p>\n<p>Marta Mills, kontaktperson f\u00f6r de nordiska destinationerna i GDS Movement, skriver:<br \/>&#8211; \u00d6stersund&#8217;s rise from 52nd place to 33rd place in the GDS-Index over just three years is an outstanding achievement. This result is particularly impressive in a year when competition was stronger than ever, with nine out of ten destinations improving their overall scores. What makes this result especially impressive is that \u00d6stersund not only improved its overall score from 72.7 to 75.3 but also achieved a significant increase in the Destination Management category, from 73.7 to 81.5 points. This demonstrates a clear commitment to continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement, and effective sustainability leadership.
